SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION: Under direction of the school principal, plans for and implements highly relevant, engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young students, in collaboration with school staff and community partners. Builds a classroom culture of learning that attends to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of all students. Scaffolds and differentiates instruction to ensure success for all learners. Supervises students in a variety of school related settings. Monitors and evaluates student outcomes. Communicates consistently and effectively and builds strong positive relationships with students, staff, families and community members. Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices. Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities. Actively participates in professional growth opportunities that support best practices in education.
