OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
We are seeking a dynamic, friendly, student-centered 8th grade math teacher to join our teaching faculty at Moore Middle School. The successful candidate will be adept at providing an atmosphere and an environment conducive to the academic, social and emotional development of individuals that ensure equitable access to learning opportunities for all students. Communicating and interacting with students, families, colleagues and community members are essential in this role.
QUALIFICATIONS
General
Working knowledge of pertinent curriculum standards, techniques for integrating and adapting curriculum and effective instructional practices. Understanding of the teaching and learning process, including the ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives as well as trauma-informed practices that engages culturally diverse populations. Record of student achievement ensuring rigorous, culturally inclusive instruction using standards based curriculum and guidelines that correlates with developmentally appropriate and engaging learning activities. Excellent human relations skills; the ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office, school based staff, students, and parents.
Education, Training and Experience
Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university
Maine State fingerprint (CHRC) authorization
Additional combinations of applicable education, training, and experience are welcome.
660 ESOL Endorsement, SIOP training and/or experience working with Multilingual Learners is preferred

WHAT WE OFFER
The salary for this position is based on experience and guided by the collective bargaining agreement associated with the position. We offer a comprehensive benefits plan, including health insurance which includes vision, and dental insurance and employer retirement contribution. We also offer a tuition reimbursement for one course per academic year.
