Tax Reporting and Analysis Prepares and maintains tax records, returns, reports and other related materials. Participates in the development and implementation of tax strategy. Devises legal means to minimize tax liability using thorough knowledge of tax laws and regulations. Recommends alternative tax treatments to alleviate or reduce tax burden.
*There is one position available, but we can hire at either the Senior or Princpal Level depending upon the qualifications and interview assessment of the successful candidate*

Principal Tax Analyst Level
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning Leads the creation of tax strategies in alignment with the organization's financial strategy, including impacts to utility regulation; researches and documents the basis for tax positions to be taken by the organization in unusual or complex situations
Tax Process Support Performs research on complex utility tax and accounting issues; makes recommendations to management regarding alternatives available to the company
Preparation and Submission Leads preparation and review of income, sales and use and property tax returns; serves as a resource to help resolve escalated issues within the filings
Financial System Management Partners with Financial Systems team to define enhancements, determine the impact of system changes, etc. as needed
Internal Consultation Advises management regarding the tax impact of organization strategies and new laws on tax liabilities; participates on special projects teams as assigned
External Interaction Leads audits with various taxation authorities, providing follow-up or resolution as required
Compliance Leads preparation, review and analysis of tax information for inclusion in company financial statements
Senior Tax Analyst Level
Key Responsibilities

Tax Process Support Performs tax research and planning, including review of effects of new legislation, tax court cases and new tax regulations and their potential impact to the company
Preparation and Submission Prepares and files required tax reporting, coordinating outsourced tax preparation work as needed; reviews work of other team members and researches/resolves issues or questions within the filings
Financial System Management Partners with Financial Systems team to ensure systems provided data necessary for accurate tax filings
Internal Consultation Prepares recommendations regarding the tax impact of organization strategies; researches the impact of the new laws on tax liabilities
External Interaction Participates in audits with various taxation authorities, providing follow-up or resolution as required
Compliance Researches tax accounting issues and drafts written support for company positions
Education/Experience/Certifications
Principal Tax Analyst
Education Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or other related field or equivalent experience

$87,225.00 - $173,875.00In addition, this position is eligible for a performance-based incentive bonus. Actual total compensation is commensurate with experience, skills, and education
