Summary

PGE's combined Clean Energy Plan and Integrated Resource Plan (CEP/IRP) marks the next step in our decarbonization journey and lays out a comprehensive roadmap for how we will meet customer energy needs and greenhouse gas emissions targets while maintaining reliability, safety and affordability. It will take all of us working together to get there.

As a Strategy & Planning Analyst, you will provide technical and strategic support to PGE's long-term resource planning. You will work independently and in cross-functional teams in support of key initiatives that drive value for customers and support PGE's clean energy objectives. Your work will involve the development and use of complex models to characterize PGE's future resource needs, conduct wholesale market forecasting, evaluate new technologies, develop resource portfolios, and evaluate portfolio cost and risk performance. You will be responsible for communicating your methodologies, findings, and insights to senior leadership within PGE, external stakeholders, and the Oregon Public Utility Commission.The ideal candidate will bring:A passion for conducting complex analyses with real-world implications, leveraging skills in resource economics, statistics, engineering, and finance;

  • Interest in the dynamics of the Pacific Northwest energy industry;
  • Talent at creative problem solving in a collaborative group environment;
  • At least eight years of relevant experience in the electricity industry, including exposure to and understanding of: wholesale energy markets; renewable, hydro, and thermal generating technologies; energy storage, demand response/flexible load programs, and energy efficiency;
  • Experience with production cost modeling (e.g., Aurora), optimization modeling, and Monte Carlo simulation, and proficiency with Python, VBA, and SQL;
  • Experience with regulatory processes and stakeholder engagement; and
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education/Experience/Certifications

Education Requires a bachelor's degree in data science, finance, economics, or related discipline or equivalent experience.

Experience Typically eight or more years of experience data modeling and forecasting or related discipline and/or experience leading one or more significant data analysis project.

Compensation Range:

$104,325.00 - $216,190.00

Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
