Position Summary

The Senior People Partner works as a strategic member of the PCC management team by contributing to the goals of the college to drive vision and purpose in finding collaborative solutions that lead to student and employee success. You will act as an internal consultant to college managers to provide strategic and hands-on counsel and support on long- and short-term employee/labor relations matters, including those of significant complexity. Acts as a liaison between Human Resources and assigned managers and leaders to facilitate communication and to ensure the coordination of HR programs.
Responsibilities include: acting as a subject matter expert to interpret and apply state and federal laws, college policies, labor agreements, and human resource practices, planning and conducting investigations; providing advice and oversight for all aspects of performance management and administration of employee discipline;; assisting in the analysis of business and operation needs and the developing plans to meet those needs, including workforce analysis; assisting in the administration of college leave programs; assisting with ADA compliance; and conducting management/employee training.

  • Ability to foster and encourage a culture of diversity and inclusion, collaboration and teamwork;
  • Experience in, and the ability to successfully navigate in, a union environment or other highly regulated environment. You will have the ability to consistently interpret, communicate and implement Collective Bargaining Agreements and Memoranda of Agreements;
  • Comprehensive investigatory experience using confidential, neutral practices; contemporary processes; and an equity, trauma informed lens;
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality to build trust and have appropriate empathy when dealing with sensitive and complex issues and the capability to listen for underlying messages and subtext and intent;
  • Working knowledge of HR systems (Workday specifically) and the ability to learn and maintain strong knowledge of internal policies, procedures, systems, and resources to offer quick and accurate assistance to employees at all levels. The ability to find creative ways to address concerns or issues within established parameters with appropriate risk;
  • Ability to research, resolve, and respond to inquiries that cover a broad array of topics
  • Demonstrated examples of advancing equitable practices through influencing leadership and managers within current policies

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field (relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis).
Five years of recent professional human resources experience at the senior level, which includes broad generalist experience in the development and delivery of comprehensive people and culture services, and which includes experience in workplace and/or civil rights complaint resolution.

Starting Salary ExpectationsMinimum $74,813 to range midpoint of $91,646. Placement will generally not exceed the mid-point, based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

After one year of management or confidential service, PCC also provides a 2% contribution to a 403(b) account for eligible management and confidential personnel. PCC offers a tax deferred annuity program and a deferred compensation program where employees may save additional pre-tax dollars for retirement.
Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for you, your spouse/domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age, as well as partial tuition reimbursement for full-time employees at other accredited institutions.
