The Future Connect Team at Portland Community College is looking for a passionate, student-centered professional to work alongside students at a pivotal point in their education. Future Connect is a college mentorship and support program for first-generation and/or low-income college students within the Department of College Success at PCC. Over 80% of Future Connect students identify as non-white and are recent graduates from local school districts. The Future Connect College Success Coach fosters a sense of belonging, working alongside students beginning their college journey by helping them navigate their transition from high school to college through advising and teaching required college success courses.
This position is an on-site flex position with a primary office space at the vibrant PCC Sylvania campus and up to two days off-site - working from home. The College Success Coach is responsible for providing a broad range of services and support to students who are enrolled at Portland Community College within the Future Connect program. The College Success Coach provides academic and career advising, teaches required college success courses, encourages consistent attendance, assists with FAFSA/ORSAA completion, and facilitates student connections to community resources. Coaches work with students throughout their time at PCC to help them persist in their college and career goals. This College Success Coach works independently at the Sylvania campus primarily with students coming from high schools on the westside of Portland and collaborates with other coaches, advisors and faculty within the college. This position will be a minimum 60% on campus work schedule and will work with a team of coaches to coordinate best services for students at the Sylvania Campus. This position reports directly to the Future Connect Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

Work is typically performed in an office environment. Evening hours are required. Occasional weekend hours may be required. Occasional lifting of marketing materials and display units used for college/high school fairs required. Travel between campuses and various remote sites requires the ability to drive and use of a personal vehicle.
