Portico has a fabulous opportunity for an experienced PROPERTY ACCOUNTING MANAGER!

Essential Functions:

• Manage a team of property accountants
• Manage and review the monthly and quarterly close of properties
• Ensure both internal and external deadlines are met
• Manage due dates for all financial reporting including but not limited to excess cash calculations, distribution wires, Asset management fees, lender reporting, HUD reporting, draws
• Manage the analysis and recording of acquisitions, purchase price allocations & disposition entries
• Communicate and interface with all levels of management, including executive leadership and property managers
• Ensure staff adherence to GAAP, internal controls and company processes and procedures
• Recruit, train and evaluate staff

The successful candidate should have the following requirements:

• Bachelors degree in accounting (or related degree with experience in accounting).
• A minimum of 6 or more years of progressive accounting experience (public or industry).
• Proficient Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Strong understanding of real estate accounting, including purchase price allocations
• Ability to lead, manage and motivate a team of accountants
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, highly developed interpersonal skills
• Must be accountable for work goals and objectives
• Ability to multi-task while adhering to deadlines and maintaining accuracy

Desired Knowledge, & Abilities:

• Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality, with an emphasis on detecting errors and/or potential fraud.
• Experience in accounting, including debits, credits and G/L account number structures required.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
