Substitute School Nurse

This position is on an "On Call Basis" with No Guarantee of Employment

Description:

• As needed basis, will receive a call when needed to schedule
• Provides assistance to sick and injured students and administers first aid.
• Investigates and documents injuries
• Ensures the accuracy of records
• Ensures that all state minimum student health screening activities are completed
• Reports to the Principal

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid license/certificate appropriate for the position (i.e., a certified public school nurse licensed by the State of Indiana and Department of Public Instruction with a registered nurse (RN) degree licensed by the State of Indiana.
• Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., negative tuberculosis test, etc.)
• A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
• Compiles with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
• Keeps current with technology of normal growth and development.
• Ability to access pharmacology information and community health resources appropriate to the needs of students.
• Training and/or experience in behavioral management techniques.

Substitute School Nurse Salary: $15.50 per hour (RN/LPN) / $13.50 per hour (CNA)
