The Marketing Director spearheads the company’s efforts to drive membership growth and elevate the company’s brand within the community and beyond. Essential functions:

The essential functions of a Marketing Director encompass a broad range of strategic and tactical responsibilities, all aimed at driving the company's marketing efforts to achieve business objectives.

The Marketing Director (MD) develops and executes a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with the company's overall objectives. Leading the marketing team, setting goals, and providing direction and mentorship. Collaborating with other departments (such as membership and operations) to ensure a cohesive approach to market growth and member satisfaction.

The MD oversees the development and management of the company's brand identity ensuring consistency across all marketing channels and materials. Positioning the company's services in the market, differentiating them from competitors, and identifying target audiences. They conduct market research to identify trends, challenges, opportunities, and member needs. Analyzing competitors, market conditions, and customer data to inform marketing strategies and product development.

They develop and oversee the execution of all marketing communications, including digital marketing (social media, email marketing, content marketing), advertising, public relations, and promotional materials. Ensuring clear, consistent, and effective messaging across all platforms. The MD Strategizes and manages digital marketing campaigns to enhance online presence, engage with the audience, and generate leads. Overseeing the company's social media strategy and presence, ensuring it aligns with overall marketing goals.

The MD plans and manages the marketing budget to ensure resources are used efficiently and effectively. They Track marketing expenditures and ROI to adjust strategies and tactics accordingly. They develop strategies and tools to support the sales team and drive sales growth. Implementing lead generation and nurturing programs to attract and retain customers.

The MD monitors, analyzes, and reports on the performance of marketing activities to evaluate their effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Using data to make informed decisions and adjust strategies as needed. They Manage relationships with stakeholders, including customers, partners, media, and community organizations. Overseeing public relations efforts to enhance the company's reputation and brand awareness.

They recruit, train, and manage the marketing team, fostering a creative and productive environment. Encouraging continuous learning and professional development among team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and branding strategy that aligns with growth objectives and market expansion plans.
  • Lead the creation and execution of targeted marketing campaigns to attract new members and retain existing ones, utilizing a mix of digital, print, and event marketing.
  • Oversee the organization's public relations efforts, crafting and disseminating press releases, managing media relations, and enhancing company’s presence in the community.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to align marketing strategies with sales objectives, ensuring a unified approach to achieving membership growth targets.
  • Drive fundraising and awareness for the non-profit affiliate, leveraging the company’s resources and member base to support community initiatives and philanthropic efforts.
  • Analyze market trends and member feedback to continuously refine and improve marketing strategies.
  • Manage the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum impact and ROI.
  • Lead, mentor, and expand the marketing team in line with the organization’s growth, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a marketing leadership role, preferably in the sports, leisure, or hospitality industries.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and strategies, including SEO, social media, email marketing, and content marketing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a diverse team and community.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful marketing campaigns and public relations strategies.
  • Experience in fundraising and non-profit marketing is highly desirable.
  • Ability to analyze data and market trends to make informed marketing decisions.
