Description

Summary/Objective

Lead and manage shipping operations to ensure efficient inventory management and timely shipment of products, aligning with corporate objectives and customer satisfaction. Direct daily activities of shipping personnel, optimize processes, and coordinate facility maintenance for a safe and productive work environment.

Essential Functions

  1. Supervise and direct the daily activities of all hourly shipping employees. Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to process and safety policies and procedures.
  2. Determine standardized work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow. Focus on continuous improvement of processes and loading efficiencies.
  3. Coordinate training, hiring, and promotions of shipping crew.
  4. Manage employee relations and address any issues or concerns with early intervention.
  5. Coordinate department priorities with transportation specialist, production planner, customer service, logistics associate, and production.
  6. Oversee storage facility use and coordinate maintenance and replacement work of facility and equipment.
  7. Plan and direct use of on-site storage, including inventory placement for efficiency of shipment.
  8. Manage roll handling processes including data integrity, roll wrap, and finished goods.
  9. Investigate and resolve issues with physical and virtual finished goods.
  10. Miscellaneous administrative duties and other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
Manage and oversee all department employees, including performance management and staffing.

Work Environment
This job operates in a production/warehouse environment and production office environment. The employee is frequently exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and the ability to lift up to 40lbs. Vision abilities required to perform this job include close and distance vision.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-time with on-call availability.

Qualifications


Required Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  2. Communication, supervisory, and ability to work in a high paced team environment.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. 5 years of related work-experience, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, and/or transportation environment.
  2. Good interpersonal skills.
  3. Pulp & Paper experience desired.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Ability to work in the United States.
