Description

AK Pizza Crust is now accepting applications for a Entry level to experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanics. These are full time, year round positions with a growing, successful company. Join one of the nation's foremost manufacturers of pizza crust and pizza dough products!

Training is provided, but some professional mechanical experience and/or technical education is required.

Shifts & Locations

The Company operates a production plant and in Prior Lake Minnesota. Immediate openings for 2nd Shift are available but may vary based on staffing needs.

Job Duties

  • Preventive maintenance on production equipment including conveyors, ovens, and freezers;
  • Troubleshooting and repairing motors, conveyors, belts, pneumatic systems and more;
  • Utilizing diagrams, sketches, manuals, manufacturer's instructions and engineering specs;
  • Removing defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools;
  • Examining form and texture of parts for wear;
  • Maintaining equipment, parts, and supply inventories;
  • Compliance with food industry GMP's, Quality Assurance and Safe Practices;
  • Accurate documentation and record keeping;
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of technical education or equivalent experience in mechanical or electrical fields.
  • Prior LOTO training and forklift certification desired; we will re-certify.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test.
  • Excellent attendance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to stand and walk 8 hours per day
  • Ability to work at heights (ladders, lifts)
  • Ability to tolerate hot / cold temperatures; some time spent in cold storage and/or near ovens
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and perform repetitive hand motion for 8 hour shift.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds /-
  • Some overhead reaching, lifting
  • Some use of ladders, stairs and step stools possible
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination

Dress code: Food Safety GMP's are followed in all plant areas. Hairnets, beard nets, and uniforms are worn. No watches, no jewelry, no piercings, no false fingernails or nail polish are permitted. No dresses, skirts, shorts, capris, or pants with holes are permitted. New slip-resistant footwear is required. The company provides a voucher for purchase of safety shoes.

Language skills: Requires the ability to understand and follow instructions and to communicate effectively one-on-one and in small groups. Teamwork and a positive attitude are essential in keeping with our culture of cooperation and respect.

Strong reading, writing, and basic math skills required.

Computer skills: all employees must be able to punch in and out on a computer interface. Use of I pad's to keep daily notes, daily tasks and much more.

Safety: Employees must comply with company Safe Practices. Slip-resistant footwear is required. the company provides a voucher for the purchase of safety shoes.

General: Employees will be expected to work to achieve company goals and to comply fully with all policies and procedures. Good attendance is required.
