Laundry Attendant Job Description

Overview:

As a Porch Light Vacation Rentals Laundry Attendant, you will be responsible for ensuring that all linens, towels, and other textiles used at PLVR are clean, properly laundered, and presented to guests in a high-quality manner. You will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of PLVR properties, contributing to overall guest satisfaction and positive reviews.

Responsibilities:

1. Laundry Operations:

- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron linens, towels, and other textiles according to established procedures and standards.

- Operate commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently.

- Monitor laundry supplies and equipment, requesting replenishment or repairs as needed.

- Maintain a clean and organized laundry area, including regular cleaning of machines and workspaces.

2. Quality Control:

- Inspect laundered items for stains, tears, or other damage, taking appropriate action to address issues.

- Ensure that all linens and towels meet quality standards before being delivered to rental properties.

- Report any quality concerns or issues with linen inventory to management.

3. Inventory Management:

- Keep accurate records of linen inventory levels and usage.

- Assist with inventory counts and replenishment orders to ensure an adequate supply of linens for all rental properties.

- Rotate linens to ensure even wear and prevent overuse of certain items.

4. Guest Service:

- Collaborate with property management and housekeeping staff to meet guest expectations for cleanliness and comfort.

- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests or concerns regarding linens and laundry services.

5. Compliance and Safety:

- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines when handling laundry chemicals and operating equipment.

- Follow industry regulations and best practices for laundry operations, including proper handling and disposal of soiled linens.

6. Teamwork:

- Work collaboratively with other members of the housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations and timely turnovers between guest stays.

- Provide support to other areas of vacation rental operations as needed, including housekeeping and maintenance tasks.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in laundry operations, preferably in a hospitality or vacation rental setting.

- Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment and procedures.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent communication and customer service skills.

- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy laundry bags or equipment.

- Knowledge of safety protocols and chemical handling procedures.

- High school diploma or equivalent.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
