Licensed Practical Nurse - Behavioral Health - PRN

About our Position:

As a Behavioral Health nurse with Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, you’ll play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to our diverse patient population.

Requirements:

• High school diploma and certification as a licensed practical nurse
• Associates Degree in Nursing preferred
• BLS certification
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures
• Typically reports to a registered nurse or supervisor.

About our Behavioral Health Unit:

Our team provides short-term inpatient stabilization for acute psychiatric patients, ages 18 and older. The 40-bed unit features private and semi-private rooms and is designed to meet patients' medical and mental health needs. Patients may be accepted voluntarily or involuntarily with a court order. Adult inpatient psychiatric treatment includes crisis stabilization, psychiatric and medical evaluation (or assessment), and therapeutic care 24 hours a day in our newly renovated facility. Diagnoses the team treats include, but are not limited to the following :Depression, anxiety, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective disorder, Bipolar disorder, PTSD, etc. Our nurses in this unit work closely with Psychiatrists, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Chaplains. Administers nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Participates in the implementation and evaluation of patient care. Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. By providing compassionate care, support, and guidance, you will contribute to improving mental health outcomes for your patients.
