Pope John Paul II Preparatory School is committed to academic and athletic excellence. At Pope Prep, athletics is a significant educational component of the student’s school experience. Student-athletes grow from their athletic experiences to become community leaders across the spectrum of life in business, medicine, law, philanthropy, government, as well as professional sports.

Our coaches are knowledgeable, committed, and passionate about what they do. Pope Prep coaches seek to foster knowledge, skills, and values to promote a successful and meaningful life for their student-athletes. Pope Prep Athletics encourages teamwork, accountability, and selflessness in our student-athletes to accomplish a collective goal of becoming positive, impactful men and women who contribute to society.

As a member of the TSSAA Division II-AA, Pope Prep competes against schools throughout the entire state, from Knoxville to Memphis. Pope Prep offers 24 Varsity sports and 18 middle school sports programs. With 42 sports offerings consisting of 65 teams, approximately 70% of our student body participates in at least one sport. On average, 17% of our student-athletes receive the opportunity to continue their athletic careers at the next level.
