We’re currently seeking a motivated, organized professional to join our Retail Team.

The Gift Buyer's Assistant is a support position, that includes performing administrative, stocking, and merchandising duties, primarily for the Gift and Accessories Buyer, as well as front counter sales and customer service. The position offers the opportunity to advance within the Retail Division of the Company for a retail professional who has the skills and ability to become a Buyer or Leader.

Duties include:

• Providing accurate and efficient administrative assistance, primarily to the Stationery Buyer, including but not limited to: receiving incoming shipments of merchandise, creating and tracking purchase orders, up-loading of merchandise onto online store, fulfilling online store orders, delivering shipments to USPS and/or UPS and more
• Physical inventory management and stocking for a large instore stock of greeting cards, art supplies, journals, and other stationery produ
• Assistance with merchandising and display resets
• Front counter sales on a point-of-sale cash register while providing warm, welcoming customer service. The Buyers' Assistants usually spend well more than half of their time providing customer service in addition to assisting the Buyers.

Essential Qualifications:

• Sales and Customer Service experience
• Retail experience, preferably for small business retail
• Solid administrative experience and strong organizational skills— organized, accurate and detailed-oriented
• Computer skills with, first and foremost, accuracy as well as speed in typing
• Visual Merchandising and/or design experience is a plu
• Must be an open communicator who is able to work effectively within a partnership and team
• Is a motivated self-starter who remains calm, focused and productive in a fast-paced work environment
• Is a natural at providing warm, welcoming customer service
• Having a knowledge of books and literature is a plus
• Is willing and able to work a variety of shifts—including evenings, weekends and weekdays
• Has excellent professional references

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
