Pontchartrain Animal Hospital is Hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Near Slidell, LA
Pontchartrain Animal Hospital is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our multi-doctor, small animal practice. This is a great opportunity for experienced veterinary technicians who are looking to utilize and grow their skill set!
The ideal candidate:
- Registered Veterinary Technician
- Team player with good communication skills
- Strong communication, delegation, and veterinary skills
- Go-getter with experience and/or interest in leadership, training, and mentoring
- Desire to uphold and build relationships with the local community
- Willingness to jump in where needed (answering phones, kennels, cleaning, etc.)
- Full time with rotating weekends.
Candidates must have hands-on experience and be proficient in the following areas:
- Animal handling and restraint
- Anesthesia induction
- Surgery assistance and anesthetic monitoring
- Dental prophylaxis and radiographs
- Blood draws and IV catheter placement
- Injection and medication administration
- Microscopic evaluation - setting up blood smears, fecal cytology, ear cytology, skin cytology, and being able to read them
- Advanced client communication and education
Qualifications:
- Registered Veterinary Technician
- Strong organizational ability and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Special interest in training and development
- Available to work rotating Saturday shifts

- CE allowance of $500 the first year, $1,000 annually thereafter
