Job Overview:

As a Pomptonian Driver/Team Member, you will play a crucial role in our operations by handling the delivery of food and goods within the school district. This multifaceted position requires not only excellent driving skills but also active involvement in food production, customer service, and maintaining a clean and sanitary environment. We are looking for individuals who can bring a positive and upbeat attitude while ensuring the delivery of superior customer service.

Duties:

• Safely operate company vehicles to transport food and goods to various locations within the district.
• Previous experience as a delivery driver is preferred but not necessary.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, including, but not limited to, frequent, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, stooping and extended walking and standing.
• Good physical fitness to perform heavy lifting such as loading and unloading shipments.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
• Background check required.
• Reliable with a strong work ethic and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Ensure timely and accurate deliveries, following established routes and schedules.
• Conduct basic vehicle inspections to ensure proper functioning and report any issues promptly.
• Lift (25 -50 lbs.) frequently
• Directly responsible for loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage during transportation.
• Stand for long periods of time
• Assist with various utility tasks, such as organizing inventory and restocking shelves.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations when on the road and in the kitchen to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Work well with team members to ensure a positive work environment.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to coordinate tasks and deliveries.
• Be flexible and adaptable to changes in tasks and responsibilities based on the needs of the team and business.

Additional Information:

This is a union position. Background check required. Clean driving record. Hours M-F 6:30am-2:30pm.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.75 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
