Job Description

• Operate a 3x axis CNC Router and CNC Vertical Machining Center.
• Develop information to facilitate production including creation of CNC programs, G Code, 2d and 3d part geometry and drawings.
• Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods.
• Develop, evaluate and improve new engineering designs and prototypes
• Design and build appropriate fixtures necessary for efficient and cost-effective manufacturing.
• Support production of existing products/product lines by developing product drawings/models based on customer specifications and established standards.
• Test new designs to applicable established standards & design objectives.
• Creates assembly instructions for new products to be manufactured.
• Confers with customers, sales & engineering staff concerning product design, tooling and production methods. * Administer customer and internal engineering change orders; Process and incorporate the changes to ensure effective results.
• Performs engineering activities in compliance with established company and manufacturing ISO standards, engineering principles, customer requirements, and related specifications.
• Recommends the purchase of equipment and materials used in manufacturing and production.
• Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs for management decisions.
• Requirements
• Proficiency and hands on experience with CNC machining centers, specifically a 3 axis CNC Router and a CNC Vertical Machining Center
• Ability to operate most any manual machine in a machine shop with some proficiency.
• Hands-on experience with computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) and design (CAD) software. We use Mastercam, Solidworks & AutoCAD/draftsight
• Ability to work efficiently & independently in a environment that will require varying duties and tasks, depending on the product being manufactured.
• Education: High School diploma with some tech school or CNC certifications preferred. Experience and proficiency with software and machining centers could serve as a replacement for that requirement
• Training: Mastercam / Solidworks, CNC operator
