As a Produce Associate, you play an important role in the overall success of our produce department. You will need to exhibit great pride and care in creating and maintaining fresh, attractive, and appealing produce displays. You will be continuously handling freight and produce throughout the cooler, trim room, back room, and produce department.

Description:

• Assist in receiving loads.
• Check off merchandise received on invoices and/or purchase orders.
• Unstack pallets of produce and move into produce cooler and storage area.
• Retrieve produce from cooler, stage and stack boxes on produce carts and move/wheel cart to produce area.
• Stock and maintain neat, attractive display cases.
• Rotate stock and watch for near-expiration and expired products.
• Adhere to food-safe handling procedures.
• Assist in maintaining correct pricing of produce
• Maintain correct signage of displays.
• Constant assessment of produce area to remove spoiled or unappealing produce.
• Separate spoiled or damaged products for returns, credits, or shrink.
• Wash and trim produce. Wrap, weigh and price produce items.
• Take customer special orders.
• Pay special attention to floors in produce area to keep them clean and safe for customers and team mates.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Crush boxes, sweep and mop produce department and produce storage areas.
• Checking and bagging of groceries, grocery carry-out, cart retrieval, and other duties as needed or directed.

Job Requirements:

• Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds of force frequently; and exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Repetitive use of hands, arms, wrists and fingers during stocking and trimming produce.
• Bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
• Frequent pushing/pulling of carts and hand trucks to transport produce from cooler and storage area to produce sales floor.

Schedule will vary to include Mon-Sat hours between 8am-8pm, Sun 11am-6pm

Starting pay is $15/hr w/a 90 day introductory period, casual dress code, relaxed work environment and employee discount!
