Description

POLYWOOD is seeking a Cost Accountant to develop and maintain a product cost system which will track detailed product cost information. The position will focus on developing the systems to analyze manufacturing cost, as well as track and allocate labor and overhead. Individuals must understand and have in-depth knowledge of accounting and ERP computer systems, as well as be detail and process oriented. They should have the ability to be a self -starter and self-directed with initiative. This position has enormous upside potential for someone who likes to take ownership and pride in their work.

Essential Functions: 

• Develop and maintain a cost accounting system
• Collects and analyzes financial and operational data to determine product costs
• Examines changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on overall cost and update system.
• Analyzes PPV and manufacturing variances
• Audits Bills of Material, evaluates data obtained, and records results
• Develops and maintains standards on all raw material 
• Develops and maintains labor routings on all operational sequences
• Maintain and improve the perpetual inventory system
• Develop and produce weekly, monthly, quarterly reports 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline
• 3 years cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment or related industry
• Experience with ERP systems and perpetual inventory systems
• CMA or CPA a plus
• Strong communication skills (both verbal & written) 
• Must be self-motivated and results oriented
• Highly detailed oriented
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Experience using computers and systems.
• Problem-solving and Critical Thinking skills
