Poly-West, Inc., leading plastics manufacturer, is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team. Poly-West produces several lines of polyethylene products including high quality trash bags, construction films, and geomembrane liners. Poly-West is also the most technologically advanced and largest recycler and compounder of polyethylene in the world. The company’s innovative design team is responsible for several technological breakthroughs in blown-film extrusion and bag making. We also maintain one of the most sophisticated on-site labs in the plastics industry.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Auto CAD skills with regards electrical drawings.

Experience performing troubleshooting or engineering in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

Electrical Engineers at Poly-West are responsible for creating and improving electrical designs for our manufacturing processes. This role will have daily interaction with conversion, and extrusion blown film equipment in a production environment, as well as additional tasks with automated equipment. The position will oversee facility improvement projects. Regular communications and interactions with technicians, production management, and engineering staff will be necessary. Our engineers work in both solo and team environments depending on the scope and nature of the project. The Engineer will be installing, upgrading, modifying, and working on various types of electrical systems. These systems include three phase power distribution, 480V three phase motors with variable frequency drive configurations, AC/DC drives and motors, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), analog and digital circuitry, servo systems operating with multiple axis, industrial equipment networks and protocols, and human machine interfaces.

In addition to capital projects, the Engineer will support maintenance and production groups. This role will be responsible for documentation, recommending maintenance procedures and generation of upgrade proposals. The position may involve additional responsibilities and opportunities as they become necessary and/or are assigned by management.
