Poly-America, L.P., a leading plastics manufacturer, is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Project Engineering team. Poly-America produces several lines of polyethylene products including high quality trash bags and construction films. Poly-America is also the most technologically advanced and largest recycler and compounder of polyethylene in the world.
Dedicated to providing the highest quality polyethylene products, our team of chemical, mechanical, electrical and process engineers is at the forefront of modern plastics technology. The companys innovative design team is responsible for several technological breakthroughs in blown-film extrusion and bag making.
Responsibilities:The Electrical Engineer will be part of a team responsible for the operation and controls of the power distribution systems at multiple manufacturing facilities, specializing in both medium voltage systems and low voltage, primarily 480V 3 power distribution switchgear systems.
For new equipment installations or upgrading of existing equipment, this role will be responsible for the concept of the overall project scope including the development of procurement documents, which may include one line drawings, as well as the development of technical specifications for the design and construction/installation phases of a project. Additional project scope responsibilities include cost estimation of the various projects phases, evaluating equipment and installation proposals from equipment suppliers and contractors, and detailing and procuring the various parts needed for the project. The overall project responsibilities include: project management, project engineering, coordinating and overseeing the installation and commissioning of the equipment.
In addition to project work, this role will support maintenance groups on existing equipment. This role will document, recommend and execute maintenance procedures and upgrade proposals based on a combination of industrial data analysis and troubleshooting results. This role will manage the existing power distributions systems, ensuring the required testing is conducted on switchgear and protective relaying, for medium and low voltage electrical distribution equipment. The role may involve additional responsibilities and opportunities as they become necessary and/or are assigned by management.
