**Job Description**

We are seeking potential candidates who are enthusiastic, safe workers and must be self-motivated to work without much supervision. The individual selected for this position will be performing a variety of jobs and duties, these duties will include operating heavy equipment on the project site property.

**In This Role, You Will:**

****Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating multiple types of construction equipment. May also operate front-end loaders, track loaders, rubber tire loaders, backhoes, excavators, bulldozers, scrapers, end dumps, compactors or skid steers.

Perform daily pre-inspections, on-going maintenance checks and manage the day to day care and custody of construction equipment maintenance

Conduct constant inspection and surveillance of surroundings before, and during the operation of all heavy equipment to ensure safe ground and slope conditions exist along with an adequate distance between other equipment or team members in the immediate work area

Communicate with others, including interpreting hand signals to determine where materials should be safely placed or loaded

May perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, including lifting, positioning and securing materials and workpieces during installation

Knowledge of laying and backfilling for water sewer and storm drain lines.

Observes markings on the ground, hand signals, or grade stakes to remove material when operating machines.

Reads and interprets blueprints and specifications, survey markers and stakes

May operate hoe equipped with laser leveling equipment, and experience with managing materials at the job site.

**What We Require:**

Must be willing and able to work in an outdoor construction work environment with potential exposure to dust, noise, waste, toxic and infectious materials, and possible inclement weather conditions

Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Experience in heavy equipment operation (required)

Basic mechanical skills

Conscientious and safety-oriented attitude

Experience in construction
