Custodian – Full Time
Department: Tryon Elementary School
Supervises: N/A
Job Summary: Maintain school building and grounds so that it is an attractive, clean and safe learning environment. Report problems to principal and school maintenance when they arise.
Essential Functions:
- Keep building and grounds neat and clean.
- Maintain floors in offices, classrooms, workroom, library, and restrooms daily.
- Maintain supplies in classrooms, workroom, and restrooms.
- Empty trash in buildings daily.
- Clean cafeteria and take out trash after breakfast and lunch daily.
- Empty trash in kitchen daily.
- Maintain school grounds and minor maintenance as needed.
- Clean basketball gym and school auditorium.
- High School graduate preferred.
- Previous experience with institutional cleaning preferred.
- Experience working with or near young children preferred.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of Board of Education policy, North Carolina statutes, goals established by the Principal.
Environmental Factors:
This position requires moderate to heavy lifting as much as fifty pounds. Requires using industrial cleaning solvents on a daily basis.
