Custom Job Purpose:

This position exists to provide support to schools and district departments in enacting technology initiatives that support high-quality instruction. The Digital Learning Coordinator partners with schools to manage and coordinate activities related to the technology implementation process with the goal to increase student engagement and achievement in Polk County schools. The Digital Learning Coordinator reports to the Senior Manager ofá InTec (Instructional Technology).

Essential Functions of this Job

Coordinates with school leadership to plan technology implementations across the district. Collaborates with all stakeholders to design, plan, and facilitate ongoing sessions of professional learning in instructional technology. Manages all aspects of technology professional learning plans for specific district and school groups including needs analysis, developing a personalized learning program, creating learning materials, delivering in-person, virtual, and on-demand workshops, and following up for ongoing implementation support. Provides ongoing technology integration support to schools and district staff. Collaborates with classroom teachers to assist in developing purposeful and appropriate technology-rich lessons that focus on curriculum standards and target/task alignment.
Through the active and enthusiastic pursuit of continuous professional learning, stays current with new and emerging technologies to best support district standards. Continues professional growth and displays a growth mindset and a passion for guiding teachers, staff, and administrators in professional growth.
Collaborates in team planning to develop appropriate technology integration professional learning programs. Attends staff, department and committee meetings as required. Gathers and analyzes data to evaluate the effectiveness of programs implemented and professional learning developed and delivered to school and district staff. Applies data-based decisions to develop and adjust professional learning and support strategies continuously.

Non-Essential Functions of this Job

Performs other duties within the scope of technology and/or professional learning as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Thorough knowledge of educational technology as it relates to curriculum content integration. Proven track record of effective classroom teaching and integration of technology in the classroom. Ability to prioritize projects and activities based on current district and department needs. Project and time management ability with follow through on all phases of a project or program implementation. Ability to work on a collaborative team and with a variety of stakeholders such as administrators, teachers, students, families, and vendors. Confident decision maker who can work independently with little supervision. Working knowledge of adult learning principles with the ability to develop live and on-demand learning experiences. Participate in professional organizations and growth programs in the areas of technology, curriculum, and instruction. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both district and instructional staff, other departments, students, and vendors. Knowledge of district supported applications including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. Exceptional verbal and written communication.

Education, Experience and/or Certification/License Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor#s degree (required), Master's Degree preferred. Teacher certification required. Experience planning and conducting adult professional learning desired. School/teacher-leader experience preferred. Minimum of three years successful teaching experience, preferably within Polk County Public Schools.

Work Context:

Requires some sitting and standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work.á Requires the use of various communication systems such as email, telephone, and computer assisted virtual meetings.á Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines.á Requires face-to-face and virtual discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams.á Requires work with internal and external stakeholders including students, classroom teachers, administrators, district staff, vendors, and with the public.

Physical Environment:

Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.á Requires sitting/standing at a desk throughout the day when in the office, standing for long periods of time when facilitating professional learning, and the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects frequently up to 10 pounds, and infrequently weighing up to 20.
