ABOUT THE JOB
Operates the most complex and specialized road construction and maintenance equipment requiring journeyman level skills. Trains employees in lower classifications in the operation of motorized construction equipment and proper working procedures. This classification is distinguished from lower classifications by the greater skill level required in operating a variety of heavy equipment and the independence from direct supervision in the performance of some jobs.
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or successful completion of the equivalent GED. Four years of experience in general road construction and maintenance work with at least two of those years as an equipment operator and at least one year operating heavier, more specialized equipment; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of a valid Class A Oregon commercial driver's license at the time of appointment. Class A Oregon commercial driver’s license must be free of restrictions for air brakes, fifth-wheel, or manual transmission and must include a tanker endorsement.
