Job description

The Regional Director of Clinical Services is responsible for proactively establishing clinical processes; building clinical systems; and maintaining the comprehensive compliance and audit management plan for Peaks Healthcare clients.

Facilitates the development, implementation, and review of compliance and auditing framework to ensure the facilitation of best clinical practices and holds clients' clinical teams accountable for results. Performs audits of documentation, functions, and departments in all lines of business in order to ensure adherence to Federal and State regulations.

Risk Management Compliance - Onsite and offsite Auditing and Oversight

  • Performs and manages audits of documentation, functions, and departments in all lines of business to ensure adherence to regulatory guidance.
  • Assists with the day-to-day compliance and auditing including chart reviews, investigating adverse patient events/outcomes, managing, and analyzing compliance data and serves as a compliance consulting resource.
  • Reports deficiencies found during audits to the COO.
  • In conjunction with the facility NHA / ED and COO directs the development of corrective actions and monitors the effectiveness of a corrective action plan to ensure compliance. Identifies, and coordinates follow-up needed to ensure effectiveness.
  • Prepares requested reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information obtained through investigations, and other compliance activities.
  • Directs systems' / processes' corrective performance improvement actions to reduce regulatory non-compliance.
  • In collaboration with the COO, works and consults the facility team during regulatory audits, CMS, State Agencies.
  • Assists with policy and procedure development and maintenance as needed.
  • In collaboration with the COO, designs and develops training initiatives/interventions to support compliance efforts and to address non-compliance.
  • Performs mock audits to ensure continual survey readiness.
  • Maintains current knowledge of regulatory guidance governing Peaks clients and standards of nursing and clinical practice.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role within clinical operations.
    • Must be a self-starter, ability to excel in ambiguous environments.
    • Strong knowledge of skilled nursing, long-term care, and assisted living regulatory compliance.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of stakeholders.
    • Bachelor of Science / related field, or equivalent years of experience required. MSN, MHA or MBA preferred.
    • Active RN license in good standing.
    • 50 - 75% Travel between Peaks Healthcare clients' worksites required.

    Travel Requirements -

    • 50% - 75% travel between Peaks clients' worksites.
    • Some overnight travel out of state REQUIRED.
