Job Description:

An IV Homecare Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care to patients in their homes, specifically focusing on administering intravenous medications and treatments. This includes assessing the patient's condition, establishing IV access, monitoring the patient's vital signs, and administering medications and fluids as prescribed by the physician. The nurse also educates the patient and their family on how to care for the IV site, recognize signs of complications, and manage any side effects of the medications. Additionally, the nurse may be responsible for coordinating with other healthcare providers, ordering supplies, and documenting the patient's progress. The IV Homecare Nurse must have strong clinical skills, excellent communication and teaching abilities, and the ability to work independently in a home setting.

Responsibilities:

Administer and monitor IV therapies in a home setting.

Assess the patient's condition and establish IV access.

Monitor the patient's vital signs and administer medications and fluids as prescribed.

Educate patients and families on care procedures, IV site maintenance, and medication management.

Recognize signs of complications and manage side effects of medications.

Coordinate with other healthcare providers, order supplies, and document patient's progress.

Qualifications:

Valid New York State RN license.

Minimum of 1 year experience in IV therapy.

Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.

Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

Ability to work independently in a home setting.
