Day in the Life of a Housekeeper/Laundry Aide:As a Housekeeper/Laundry Aide, you will be responsible for: 

• Performs general housekeeping duties based on assigned schedule, including cleaning offices, restrooms, activity rooms, and other designated areas.
• Completes tasks such as replacing light bulbs, cleaning dryers, and maintaining outdoor spaces.
• Cleans, disinfects, and organizes fixtures, floors, walls, doors, and ceilings as needed.
• Collaborates with maintenance personnel to service floors, resident rooms, baths, and common areas.
• Addresses environmental service requests and communicates effectively with residents, nurses, physicians, and department leaders.
• Executes housekeeping and maintenance tasks outlined in the environmental program.
• Ensures readiness of rooms for new admissions and maintains immediate cleaning priorities.
• Follows safety protocols during floor cleaning activities and ensures proper storage of equipment and supplies.
• Utilizes appropriate machines and chemicals for carpet and floor care, including stripping and waxing procedures.
• Monitors and replenishes cleaning products, maintains inventory, and uses supplies efficiently.
• Performs terminal cleaning in resident rooms after discharge or transfer, following established procedures.
• Conducts cleaning duties in isolation units as per established protocols.
• Adapts to changing responsibilities and performs other tasks as assigned.

Requirements/To excel in this role, you should possess: 

• Excellent customer service skills. 

• Ability to move (sit, stand, bend, lift). 

• Capability to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 pounds. 

• Prior Housekeeping experience is required, preferably in a nursing home environment. 

• Awareness and adherence to union policies and procedures.
