Your Role As an Embedded Software Developer in the Edge Platform team, you will work on the cutting-edge SOCs from mainstream vendors to develop the next generation of edge computing solutions for Aptiv Connected Services. You will implement proof of concepts, tools, build features, deploy systems, and be responsible for the end-to-end execution of assignments. You will partner with stakeholders from product management, architecture, and other engineering teams across many functions within Aptiv Connected Services and external implementation partners. In your daily job you will: Work as a member of a globally distributed team designing and developing data acquisition and secure data exchange solutions for machine-to-machine applications. Develop embedded software for Aptiv’s Connected Edge Platform. Assignments may include: Linux OS work including u-boot, kernel and drivers using Yocto. Board bring-up, integration and design testing with hardware engineers. Security and edge computing solutions on Linux. Working with embedded AI and smart video processing technologies. Software issue troubleshooting, problem solving, root cause analysis, etc. Modify software to debug, adapt to new hardware, and/or improve performance. Integrate software from 3rd parties. Participate in agile ceremonies. Your Background Experience in embedded software application development. Experience in C/C application development and Linux. Experience with coding standards like MISRA. Experience with software design methodologies and latest software quality standards. Experience with agile development processes. Experience with unit tests and static code analysis. Ability to meet commitments and deliver projects within specified timelines. Independent problem-solving ability Exceptional written and oral communication skills. What would make you stand out: Knowledge of vehicle diagnostics and automotive networks, such as CAN or Automotive Ethernet Experience in embedded applications development or automotive embedded development. Experience with agile software development process. Familiarity with microcontrollers and ARM processor Knowledge of Functional Safety and SPICE processes Experience with CI/CD workflows.
