POINTSMITH is Hiring a Finishing Operator Near Katy, TX

Job Summary:

The Finishing Operator will be responsible for operating 54” to 65” Paper Cutter and Die Cutting Presses, as required by Pointsmith Job Ticket. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of paper cutting and die cutting experience, and will be able to work shifts, read a tape measure, and lift and handle up to 40lbs while pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, and twisting. The Finishing Operator will also be responsible for maintaining safety procedures, filling out production and quality reports, and ensuring good housekeeping practices in the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate paper cutter and die cutter presses, and perform changeover of knives and/or dies, observing safety procedures
  • Set up and operate most machines and processes with the initiative to work without supervision
  • Train and cross-train others and follow OSHA/Pointsmith safety guidelines
  • Fill out production and quality reports and maintain good housekeeping practices in department
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Finishing Supervisor

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of paper cutting and die cutting experience
  • Good command of the English language
  • Strong mechanical, mathematical, communication, training, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to communicate well with others and read and understand written instructions
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week and work shifts
  • Must be able to read a tape measure
  • Must be able to lift and handle 40lbs while pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, and twisting, with or without an accommodation
  • Must be able to stand continually with frequent bending, climbing, and squatting

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
