JOB SUMMARY

As the Quality Program Manager for Industrial Alcohol, you will play a key role in overseeing technical and quality elements of the industrial alcohol program. You will also be the primary point of contact to troubleshoot, improve, and support the quality teams at our industrial alcohol bioprocessing sites as well as serving as the liaison with our POET PURE Marketing team. This role is focused on excellence in execution in operations. This includes, but is not limited to: refining and optimizing analytical methods and their SOPs, leading verification and validation activities, building quality program elements, and serving as a technical resource for customer inquiries.

DURING A TYPICAL DAY 

  • You manage POET’s Industrial Alcohol Quality program and associated quality SOPs.
  • You support the integrity of operational and laboratory qualifications.
  • You manage technical inquiries from POET PURE and our customers to navigate customer requests and complaints, analytical thresholds, and quality deviation troubleshooting.
  • You will operate as part of a cross-functional team to direct method improvement, development, and evaluate execution.
  • You provide leadership for Industrial Alcohol’s use of POET’s LIMs and Industrial Alcohol’s documentation management tools.
  • You analyze data using Process Information (PI) software and statistical programs.
  • You work with instrumentation and reagent suppliers to ensure appropriate documentation and support is available.
  • You partner with Engineering to optimize and troubleshoot Industrial Alcohol operations.
  • You perform lab bench work as needed for validations, verifications, and program support.
  • It will be vital that you communicate effectively with all POET entities.

STRENGTHS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, or similar scientific field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in laboratory operations, program execution, and method development.
  • GLP training is required.
  • Familiarity with FDA Pharmaceutical regulatory requirements is required.
  • TTB Chemist Certification encouraged.
  • Experience in ethanol production is a plus.
  • You are able to successfully integrate complicated analytical data into practical outputs.
  • You know the basics of Microsoft Office Suite. You’re capable of learning new programs.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to embrace change.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
