To provide behavior support services to children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral disturba nces by engaging them in weekly skills training services as well as targeted case management when deemed appropriate.
The qualified professional shall perform 70% of the time when children and adolescents are awake and present in the facility.
Our qualified professional will follow a strength-based model that will help develop and build skills that will help child and adolescent function successfully.
Duties
Provide clinical and administrative duties a minimum of 10 hours per week which includes individual therapy in addition to administrative tasks including progress notes on clients.
1. Clinical and administrative responsibilities of the qualified professional include:
2. Coordination of each child or adolescent's treatment plan
3. Participation in treatment planning meetings
4. Provision of direct psycho educational services to children or adolescent
5. Oversight of emergencies
6. Supervision of the associate professionals and para-professionals
7. Provision of basic case management functions
Education/Experience Requirements: Must meet one of the following requirements
a. An individual who holds a license, provisional license, certificate, registration or permit issued by the governing board of regulating a human service profession, except a registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing who also has four years of full-time accumulated experience in MH/DD/SA with the population served
b. A graduate of a college or university with Master's degree in a human service field and has one year of full time, post-graduate degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has one year of full-time, post graduate degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling
c. A graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a human service field and has two years of full-time post bachelor's degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has two years of full-time, postbachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling
d. A graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a field other than human services and has four years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
1. C.P.I. and/or NCI
2. First Aid and CPR for children and adults
3. OSHA and medication management
4. Ability to make decisions pertaining to behavior intervention
5. A critical thinker and effective conflict resolution skills
6. Effective oral and written communication skills
7. Possess good insight and judgement
8. Knowledge of emotional needs of children and adolescents
9. Ability to work efficiently and effectively both individually and as part of a team
10. Well organized and adaptable
