Position Title: Master Planner

Location: Charlotte, NC

Client: The Light Source USA Inc. is a leading Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) in the Lighting Industry, committed to delivering high-quality products to our global clientele.

All working visa types are welcome (CPT, OPT, H4 EAD, L2). We also sponsor H-1B and Green Card.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Master Planner to join our dynamic team.

This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient production operations and maintaining our reputation for excellence.

Position Overview:

The Master Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive production schedule that meets customer demand while optimizing manufacturing efficiency and minimizing costs. This role requires close collaboration with various departments, including Production, Procurement, Sales, and Engineering, to ensure alignment with business objectives and resource availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Scheduling:
    • Develop and manage the master production schedule (MPS) to meet customer requirements and inventory targets.
    • Balance supply and demand, ensuring optimal utilization of manufacturing resources.
    • Monitor and adjust schedules as needed to respond to changes in demand, supply chain disruptions, and production issues.
  2. Capacity Planning:
    • Analyze capacity requirements and constraints to ensure sufficient resources (labor, equipment, materials) are available.
    • Coordinate with Production and Engineering teams to address bottlenecks and enhance manufacturing capabilities.
  3. Inventory Management:
    • Maintain appropriate inventory levels to support production schedules while minimizing excess stock.
    • Implement and monitor inventory control strategies, including safety stock levels and reorder points.
  4. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with Sales, Procurement, and Production teams to align production plans with customer orders and forecasts.
    • Communicate production status, potential delays, and recovery plans to relevant stakeholders.
  5. Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance planning accuracy, efficiency, and responsiveness.
    • Utilize data and metrics to drive decision-making and support operational excellence initiatives.
  6. Systems and Tools:
    • Leverage advanced planning and scheduling software to optimize the production planning process.
    • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the planning system and maintain up-to-date records.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning or a related role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in an OEM setting.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Vietnamese
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and advanced planning software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in planning and scheduling activities.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
