PMSA Group is currently searching for a qualified Operations Research Analysts for positions in support of the United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) Resources and Analysis Directorate (CCJ8). The CCJ8 Analysis and Requirements division requires an operations research analyst to effectively support the USCENTCOM wargaming efforts by producing the analysis and logical reasoning necessary to inform critical decisions, shorten decision cycles, make decisions with the best available information, and improve the success rate of implemented decisions..

Responsibilities:

Operations Research Analysts use their data and analytical ability to find and interpret rich data sources; manage large amounts of data despite hardware, software, and bandwidth constraints; merge data sources; ensure consistency of datasets; create visualizations to aid in understanding data; build mathematical models using the data; and present and communicate the data insights/findings. The candidate is expected to work by exploratory analysis and rapid iteration and to produce and present results. USCENTCOM analysis and requirements division is seeking a creative candidate who is also rigorous, precise, listens well, and asks good questions to provide direct database programming and data integration support for theater and operational assessments, campaign and combat operations analysis, wargaming, and decision analysis.

Major functions :

• Design, develop, and apply a variety of Operations Research and Data Science principles to include mathematical and statistical modeling (to include the Standard Wargame Integration and Facilitation Tool (SWIFT), Center for Army Analysis Accelerated Wargaming System (CAAAWS), and Air Base Attack Tool (ABAT))
• Design, develop, and apply a variety of Operations Research and Data Science principles to include mathematical and statistical modeling, data analysis, and decision support analytics processes
• Tailor quantitative and qualitative analysis to a broad range of complex military problems by designing, developing, and applying techniques such as probability models, statistical inference, simulations, and optimization and economic models
• Consult on the design of inquiries that can provide knowledge by discovering patterns and previously hidden insights
• Ensure data consistency, merge data sources together, and help others gain a better understanding of data
• Integrating algorithmic solution into computer programming languages to provide operational analytic product solutions
• Develop information displays, decision briefings, analytical papers, and facilitate senior leader discussions

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Must have a DoD Top Secret (TS) clearance and be Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligible; also must have a current DoD approved Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) having at least one year of eligibility remaining before required renewal of their background investigation.
• BA, BE, or BS degree in Operations Research Systems Analysis, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
• 3 years of experience with Operations Research System Analysis (ORSA)
• Experience with developing analytic methodologies, metrics, and decision criteria
• Experience with leveraging scientific methods to inform qualitative and quantitative analyses
• Experience with using automated statistical packages in support of analysis projects
• Experience with preparing and presenting senior leadership briefings and papers
• Knowledge of the software development life cycle, testing, and version control

Additional Desired Qualifications and Experience

• Experience working in a Joint and/or Combatant Command
• Experience in the USCENTCOM area of responsibility
• Command and General Staff College or Service equivalent a plus
• Experience and proficiency with R, Python, SQL, or other software programs that analyze data a plus
• Experience with decision models a plus
• Experience with wargaming a plus
• Experience with simulation a plus
• Experience with resource allocation a plus
• Experience with survey design / analysis and interview techniques a plus
• Experience with data / info management a plus
• Experience with nodal or flow modeling a plus
• Experience with cost/benefit analysis a plus
• Experience with trending and forecasting a plus
• Experience with geospatial analysis a plus
• Demonstrated ability to talk, discuss, and present with clarity, precision, and conciseness
• Experience with distributed programming languages, including SPark or scala
