Position Summary:
The Lead Behavioral Health Certified Peer Specialist Consultant (LBHCPSC) will provide project management services to NIAC to ensure all aspects of peer culture and inclusion are strengthened throughout the DBHIDS provider network.
The (LBHCPSC) will design a method to maintain progress and follow-up procedures in reference to information reported from NIAC site visits as it relates to the Performance Improvement Process. The design will include from start to finish, the scope and structure, the method of communicating data, developing schedules and overall execution
The (LBHCPSC) will develop a referral process to connect agencies to services and activities provided at DBHIDS, such as the Peer Culture and Community Inclusion Unit, Mental Health Association, Pro-Act and other training opportunities.
The (LBHCPSC) will continue to support DBHIDS in the effort to ensure that provider agencies incorporate individuals receiving services in all phases of development, planning, and program evaluation. The Network Improvement and Accountability Collaborative (NIAC) LBHCPSC will specialize in assessing peer inclusion, peer culture, person directed planning approaches, and other peer support services at each NIAC site visit
The ideal candidate will be a team player, self-starter, outgoing, engaging, and comfortable working with people of all ages from children to adults. The LBHCPSC will have a working knowledge of the Philadelphia Behavioral Health System Practice Guidelines, to include mental health and alcohol and other drug recovery. The position requires the individual to draw upon one’s personal recovery experiences and capital when maintaining data, writing reports, conducting interviews and focus groups, and participating in planning and other workgroups. The LBHCPSC will be expected to provide the perspective of a person in recovery regarding peer inclusion in recovery oriented practices within all levels of care
The LBHCPSC will assist in and manage trainings for the NIAC team as it relates to participant-supported activities (WRAP planning, interacting with peers, etc.) and provide modeling to the team members. Fundamentally, the LBHCPSC will be directly involved in promoting hope and positive change within the behavioral health system

PMHCC, a not-for-profit organization, began as The Philadelphia Mental Health Care Corporation in 1987 for the City of Philadelphia in order to implement a major grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Program for Chronic Mental Illness.
