Job Summary:

The Network Support Technician will troubleshoot and maintain the organization’s network systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintains network systems, installing new hardware and modifying existing hardware, and related network software and applications.
• Provides technical support identifying, investigating, and resolving users’ problems with computer software and hardware for problems specific to the organizations computer networks and systems. 
• Applies knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures to solve problems. 
• Collaborates with other staff to research and resolve problems.
• Installs and maintains peripheral devices including printers, hubs, routers, and other equipment.
• Communicates with end users to understand and troubleshoot problems.
• Conducts periodic diagnostics and testing to ensure optimal network function and minimal downtime.
• Maintains network security by managing email and intranet services, adding and removing users and accounts in various other systems.
• Collaborates with leaders to review and analyze hardware and software needs; recommends changes. Arranges service by software or hardware vendors to repair or replace defective products.
• Maintains knowledge of technology innovations and trends.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Associate’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
• At least three years of experience in network maintenance and user technical support preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. 
• May be required to work on-call or long hours in case of network malfunction.
