Position Focus: 

As an Injection Molding Process Technician at PMC you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our injection molding machines and the production of top-quality plastic products. You will be responsible for optimizing the injection molding process, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining equipment to meet production targets and quality standards.

Critical Responsibilities:

  • Machine Setup and Maintenance: Set up and maintain injection molding machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment, ensuring they operate at peak efficiency.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously monitor and adjust the injection molding process parameters (e.g., temperature, pressure, cycle time) to achieve optimal product quality and production efficiency within the validated ranges.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of molded products to ensure they meet quality standards. Notify Quality Control and implement corrective actions when defects are identified.
  • Material Handling: Manage material handling, including resin loading, mixing, and conveying, to ensure a consistent and uninterrupted production process.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions, processing issues, and quality problems, then implement timely and effective solutions.
  • Tooling Changes: Perform mold and secondary equipment changes in a timely manner to ensure production needs are met.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machine settings, process parameters, and maintenance activities. Complete Daily Check Sheets, production reports, and additional documentation as required.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Training and Support: Train and support machine operators and other team members in best practices for injection molding processes and equipment operation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in process improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing changes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in injection molding is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an Injection Molding Process Technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of injection molding processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs, overhead.
  • Ability to obtain a Forklift License.
  • Willing to work overtime including weekend work.
