PMC Medical Group is Hiring a New Patient Coordinator Near Somersworth, NH

Job Title: New Patient Coordinator

This *Hybrid/Work From Home* position manages new patient coordination across all PMC Medical Group practices and sites. In-office days are located at our Somersworth, NH office.

This role begins with 32 hours per week and will transition to 40 hours as training advances.

Hourly Range:
$18-$20 based on experience and relevant qualifications.

Job Description:

A New Patient Coordinator at PMC Medical Group efficiently manages new patient intake, insurance verification, and referral compliance across multiple practice locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Referral Management:
    • Receive referrals through assigned channels and delegate tasks within the New Patient Referral Team (NPRT).
    • Create patient charts and ensure all necessary information is accurately documented.
    • Send cases to provider review as necessary and decline referrals based on predefined criteria, such as the need for a full workup or issues identified during the review process.
  • Insurance Verification:
    • Verify insurance details via payer websites or phone calls, including plan type, referral requirements, PCP specifications, deductibles, out-of-pocket costs, and service costs.
    • Communicate with relevant personnel regarding any additional authorization requirements or special considerations for specific procedures.
    • Ensure that referrals meet insurance policy requirements, following up with patients and external offices as necessary.
    • Handle special cases such as worker's compensation claims, ensuring accurate verification of carrier information, injury details, authorization, and service limits.
    • Provide information on self-pay options and pricing when necessary.
  • Record Management:
    • Review received records for processing GSPA referrals.
    • Communicate with external offices and patients directly to obtain any missing records.
    • Obtain necessary releases of information (ROI) as required for record procurement.
  • Patient Communication:
    • Regularly communicate with patients via phone to discuss their cases, inform them of required records, and provide updates on the scheduling process.
    • Provide patients with appointment details, including costs, cancellation policies, and online registration procedures.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in patient coordination or related roles.

  • Familiarity with insurance verification processes and medical terminology.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently manage responsibilities.
