The Vice-President, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) will be responsible for leading the effective design and implementation of the PLZ’s EHS strategy, system, and related policies/procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.

Key Responsibility:

• Ensures compliance with OSHA and other environmental and safety regulations at the federal, state, and local levels by developing new, or enhancing existing, policies and programs.
• Collaborates with management and supervisors to develop and lead environmental and safety programs, training, and employee orientation.
• Leads and coordinates the strategies and actions to drive a culture of continuous improvement, including with emphasis on prevention efforts geared toward near miss reporting, zero incident-injury goals and risk mitigation efforts.
• Analyzes work environments to identify EHS risks; prioritizes and applies appropriate control mechanisms to address each concern.
• Acts as the company’s representative in meetings or other interactions with compliance agencies and officials.
• Maintains current knowledge of developments in environmental and safety fields, and changes in federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Safety, Engineering, Science, or related field required; Master degree in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) or related field preferred.

• Certification in safety, industrial hygiene, or environmental management preferred.
• 10 years of experience related to EHS with at least 5 years in a in a management role, required.
• Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in OSHA regulation and requirements, including management of Chemical and hazardous materials.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence a multi-site, geographically disperse team.
• 50-70% travel throughout North America.
