Plymouth State University is Hiring a Groundsworker Near Plymouth, NH
Under direct supervision of the Grounds Manager this position is responsible for assisting with the maintenance of a very high-visibility areas including responsibility for the day-to-day operations of all gardens; including weed control, design and creation of all new gardens and plantings. The Grounds Worker/Gardener also assists the Grounds Manager to select contractors for maintaining the over 2,000 trees University wide, as well as provide input on capital projects for plantings and landscape for both new projects and renovations.
This position is full time, 40 hours per. week, $16/hr. depending upon experience, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package.

- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- One year of experience in grounds maintenance.
- A valid driver’s license
- Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform characteristic duties of the job including heavy lifting up to 75lbs, and exposure to inclement weather conditions for prolonged periods of time.
- Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Possess DOT medical card or the ability to acquire.
- Beyond one year experience in grounds maintenance.
- Snow removal/plowing experience.
- Equipment operator with maintenance experience on the following : Bobcat, Kubota, or John Deere tractor loader/excavator etc.
- Proven team player with a strong customer service focus.
- Demonstrated experience with landscape and design
- Supervising experience
