Plymouth Road Animal Clinic, located in Grand Rapids Michigan and specializing in general medicine and surgery for canine and feline patients, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We are a close-knit, team-based small animal hospital with a very robust client base. We moved into our brand new, state-of-the-art 7000 square foot facility in April 2022. General Responsibilities

-Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with appointments, surgery, dental procedures

-Calculate and/or administer medications/anesthesia under the supervision of the veterinarian or technician

-Carry out diagnostic testing under the direction of the veterinarian or technician

-Cleaning of work environment as well as surgical instrumentation

-Providing client communication and resources

Qualifications

-Must have documented experience as a veterinary assistant

-Must be able to lift and carry animals and equipment up to 50 pounds

-Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods of time

-Will consider all applicants but ideal candidate would have 2 years of experience

-Must be able to work in a team environment
