Summary: The Project Coordinator will carry out the goals and objectives of the CARA Grant under the direction of the Program Director. The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: meeting the standards and requirements set by SAMHSA, increase education on substance use disorders and provide training to first responders and community groups to administer Naloxone and other life saving measures, and enhance access to opioid-related education and resources for individuals with disabilities as well as racial, ethnic and culturally diverse populations in Plymouth County,
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Masters Preferred, Bachelor’s Degree in human services, public health, social work, or related field plus three-year experience or combination of education & experience.
· Knowledge of community/Program philosophies, goals, mission, and vision.
· Knowledge of current theories, techniques, and practices of substance abuse prevention and able to demonstrate skills in implementing programs and activities in the communities
· Knowledge of group fundamentals and the ability to conduct meetings
· Knowledge of community resources and ability to solicit/ secure resources
· Ability to relate to community contacts, program participants and staff in a positive manner
· Must possess good organization, communication, and motivational skills
· Ability to manage time effectively
· Demonstrates ethical, trustworthy, and professional behavior.
· Demonstrates values, beliefs and attitudes that inspire others to higher levels of performance.
· Treats people fairly, equitably, and with dignity and respect.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist the Program Director in managing the First Response Grant
· 2 Coordinate monthly advisory meetings and activities
· Oversee operation of the Program’s activities and programs including increasing participation in the Program, community readiness, creation (or following if already in existence) of by-laws and policies, as well as Program goals and objectives
· Conduct outreach to community groups and offer the Opioid-Overdose Response Curriculum
· Coordinate training activities in the community
· Provide training and consultation
· Provide weekly communication with all staff working under the project
· Monitor programs to ensure compliance of grant requirements.
· Develop and maintain positive work relationships with each of the community sectors.
