POSITION: Operations Manager

About Plum Dental Group (“Plum”)
Plum is a dynamic, high growth Dental Partnership Organization (DPO) with over twenty locations in RI and eastern CT. The Company's affiliated dental practices provide comprehensive general, specialty and cosmetic dental care to over 20,000 patients annually. As a DPO, we are responsible for managing all administrative support functions of the dental practices including marketing, HR, insurance, accounting, billing, etc so that dentists can focus on treating patients and not have to worry about the nuts and bolts of running a practice.
The Opportunity

The Operations Manager will serve as a key member of the operations team and will be responsible for managing a few of the practices as well as supporting the practices and clinical teams with key projects that effect all offices including organizing and overseeing vendors, developing training programs, recruiting/hiring, organizing and coordinating practice and company events, and assisting with practice transitions (integrating acquired offices).
The candidate should be a self-starter, energetic, have an excellent work ethic, and be able to operate independently and with limited direction. They should also have a sense of humor and great interpersonal and communication skills.
The Company’s headquarters in Warwick, RI serves as a home base for the accounting and administration team members, while the operations team are usually in the dental practices.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Manage two offices initially with goal of learning our way of doing things (our “Plum Sauce”)
· Oversee outsourced service providers we utilize for the practices including (dental discount plans, network optimization, insurance verification, credentialing)
· Organize and oversee all vendor relationships for dental supplies and dental labs
· Work with functional leaders (Hygiene, Dental Assistant, and Clinical Directors) to maintain continuing education and training programs, ensuring affiliated clinicians and team members receive continuous training
· Oversee and ensure optimization and consistency of patient discount plans, appointment reminders, request for patient reviews, etc
· Provide support to CEO, COO and ops and clinical teams with various other projects
· Foster the discussion and diffusion of best practices throughout the organization
Requirements
· 4 years of healthcare and dental services management experience. Examples include:
o Hospital administrative director/manager
o Regional manager for outpatient healthcare services (dental, behavioral, post-acute, medical specialty)
o General/operations/project management of other healthcare companies (retail healthcare, pharmacy, insurers, etc)
· A Bachelor’s degree is required
· Demonstrated success in leading projects to the satisfaction of multiple stakeholders
· Knowledge of healthcare billing and collections and working with payors is a plus
· Strong organizational, project management, communication and social skills
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
· Ambition, confidence, humility, empathy, team player
· Willingness to embrace technology to solve problems/increase efficiency
Compensation
· Salary dependent on background and level of experience
o The ceiling is high at Plum – we are a young and lean company and there will be new opportunities that develop as we grow; salary can increase materially (and potentially include equity) as the candidate develops and takes on additional responsibility
