Plug Power Inc is Hiring a Senior Test Engineer Near Latham, NY
Pay Rate: $75,240.00 - $112,860.00 Senior Test Engineer Status: Exempt (salaried) Department: Automation and Manufacturing Engineering Position Summary The Senior Test Engineer position will use their expertise to support Plug Power’s fuel cell products by defining, documenting, acquiring data, analyzing and performing tests on Plug Power fuel cell systems and system components. The Senior Test Engineer will analyze system related failure modes and be a part of the solution for improving system performance. The ideal candidate will provide input to engineering for making changes to systems to improve system reliability. This individual will design and improve system performance on manufacturing facing test equipment and solve complex hardware/software matters as needed. Accordingly, this candidate must be able to effectively communicate within the cross-functional team members. The ideal candidate should be creative, self-motivated, able to handle multiple project assignments within a fast-paced engineering organization. Core Duties and Responsibilities Outline diagnostic parameters to programmatically determine root cause via failure mode analysis Experience with 4 probe, hipot, resistance, continuity, and leak testing Knowledge of test programming methods including LabVIEW, Python, Java, HTML, Structured Text, Siemens/AB PLC Track field performance activity and create analytics commensurate with current needs Ensure testing procedures follow compliance with required industry standards Develop testing protocols and solve complex technical and business matters as needed Create and implement improvements to previous testing programs Document technical improvements to system reliability, follow changes to completion over system life expectancy Provide technical training to internal staff members or customers as needed Successfully integrate system data from customer sites for failure mode and root cause analysis Act as a mentor and resource to other engineers on the team Manage projects with a focus on delivering high caliber results in a timely fashion from specification creation to installation and commissioning Maintain an understanding of high priority engineering projects and contribute to these projects as needed. Always represent Plug Power in a professional manner and in all interactions Perform all other duties as assigned Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other related discipline; Masters preferred Four (4) plus years or more years of related work experience Ability to travel for business need up to 10% of the time Preferred with experience in C, VBA, LabVIEW, JMP, RSoft with proven experience with writing code Electrochemical Diagnostics Testing experience is strongly preferred Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook Exceptional data analysis and presentation skills Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levels Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail Superior communication skills Excellent follow-through Must be driven and self-motivated Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below: ✓ Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
