About this Position The data engineer will be responsible for extraction of data, data validation, and data availability for internal and external projects. Work with the architects and business partners to make data available through various ETL tools, such as SSIS and Python. Utilize industry best practices to enhance loading and unloading of data. Tasks will also include documenting technical needs for ETL processes and databases, and ensuring optimal technical infrastructure is utilized. RESPONSIBILITIES Design and implement ETL procedures for intake of data from both internal and outside sources; as well as ensure data is verified and quality is checked Design and implement ETL processes and data architecture to ensure proper functioning of analytics lad, as well as client’s or third-party’s reporting environments and dashboard Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders in ensuring data warehouse architecture development and utilization Perform the design and extension of data marts, meta data, and data models Ensure all data warehouse architecture codes are maintained in a version control system. Helps with integration of solutions into applications Participates in Agile ceremonies such as SCRUM ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, and EXPERIENCE College degree in Information Technology, or equivalent, and minimum of 5 years’ work experience in Information Technology. Expertise in multiple high-level programming languages, with preferences for java, javascript and python Advanced knowledge of Database modeling, particularly in DB2. Able to lead Web projects effectively and understand how all Web components fit together in Primerica as well as industry standards Advanced knowledge of system-to-system integration Advanced knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Proficient with a code debugger Proficient in design patterns.
