As a System Administrator on the corporate IT team, you will have the opportunity to own and manage emerging technologies to provide technical support to the Plexus global user community. In this role, you will collaborate with other IT personnel, vendors and partners to identify and resolve issues as well as be involved in projects that upgrade or deliver new capabilities and technologies that promote the Plexus philosophy and business objectives. What we expect from you: Follow established change management policy and procedure to research and recommend new technology, test and implement system updates, modifications or deletions. Partner and collaborate with members of global IT including project management, solution management, infrastructure and Engineering Solutions to deploy purchased or developed technologies that support business requirements. Own and maintain systems, networks, technologies or processes that provide a solution to a business function of Plexus. Ensuring the availability, integrity, security and recoverability of Plexus data on a 24 x 7 x 365 basis. Possess the ability to work in a fast paced environment, supporting a global organization of passionate and committed employees. Deliver user satisfaction of existing technologies but also develop and deliver continuous improvements to gain efficiency or eliminate risk. Demonstrate the willingness and ability to grow and learn Use your experience or knowledge in user management (Active Directory), operating system management (Microsoft Windows, Oracle Linux or Solaris), enterprise storage (NAS, SAN, CIFS, NFS, SMB), common compute resource management (containers and virtualization) as well as common network connectivity (DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN and WAN) What you can expect from us: Continued pursuit of technologies that are emerging or enterprise level. Enduring goals of quality and excellence Additional Accountabilities: Ensures user satisfaction by resolving routine operational issues regarding areas of expertise or assignment, utilizing Plexus policies and procedures; includes development and maintenance of standards and documentation related to the accountabilities above. Provides evidence of activity based on scheduled routine or in support of ongoing audit. Follow known practices or procedures to ensure that Plexus systems remain within compliance of established government regulations. Assists in the deployment of code or system changes within a multiple tiered environment that could include levels of development leading to production. Assists in the management of integrations between applications or systems relative to a business process both internally and externally. Assists with the operational duties of system backup and recovery. Partner with members of Solutions Management or Project Management to manage and/or deploy purchased or developed technology to support a business requirement. Deploy and/or manage solutions that are integrated as part of a total IT solution for a global market of Plexus personnel, vendors and customers; includes development and execution of educational materials designed to prepare internal customers for making effective decisions related to data communications needs. Minimal travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated 5%). Additional duties as assigned. Education / Experience Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required; a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology is preferred. Two (2) years of related experience is required; three (3) or more years of related experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered. Other Qualifications: Troubleshooting skills requiring the review of a variety of factors and certain degree of creativity and latitude. Excellent communication, organizational, time management and problem solving skills. Computer literacy in Windows environment including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheets, flowcharting and other software development, documentation, or project management tools needed to perform assignment. Maintain the confidentiality of all departments, company and customer information while working safely at all times. Excellent customer service skills including direct interaction with users, assertiveness and persistence to address issues to closure. The ability to support around the clock monitoring and management and may result in support or activities after normal business hours. General office equipment and materials. Work Environment: The work setting should consist of an office environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a low noise level.
