PlayPower is Hiring a Technical Writer Near Lewisburg, PA
We are looking to fill a Full-time 1st shift Technical Writer position in our Product Development Department.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating and maintaining installation instructions and technical documents for all PlayPower products
- Creating details in SolidWorks Composer
- Create language translations for existing installation and maintenance instructions
- Verifying correct quantities, locations and depictions of parts and hardware for each model as listed in the Bill of Materials.
- Provide desktop publishing and graphics software training and technical support
- Compile specification data on new and revised products into a General Specifications document for use by Sales Reps in bid proposals
- Create graphics for marketing and presentation materials
- Respond to Customer Service Reps, Sales Reps, Installers and Customer inquires regarding parts, dimensions, and assemblies.
Qualified applicants will have:
- Associate’s degree from a two-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of design software packages such as Composer and Solidworks.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, and a basic knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, PDM, Syteline, Solidworks, Composer, and In Design.
- Ability to prioritize work assignments and see them through to completion and set work assignments for others.
- Organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Sense of urgency and ability to work as a team to meet established goals is very important
