Player Design Inc. is Hiring an Electrical Project Manager Near Jeanerette, LA

Overview: Player Design is seeking a skilled Project Manager with strong electrical background to oversee the construction of biomass facilities in Southern Louisiana. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical construction management, with a focus on running underground conduit, primary and secondary power design/installation, and the ability to manage contractors in the field.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead and manage all electrical aspects of the biomass facility construction projects, including overseeing construction crews while they are running underground conduit, pulling wire, terminating equipment, building electrical rooms with MCC equipment, as well as commissioning.
  • Timelines and Budgets: Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets, ensuring that milestones are met, and expenditures remain within approved limits. Ability to stay a few steps ahead of contract crews to facilitate efficient installation of electrical equipment.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure efficient and timely completion of electrical work, while adhering to project specifications and safety standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure that all electrical installations meet industry standards and project requirements.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all electrical-related matters, providing regular updates to project stakeholders and addressing any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges to project success and develop strategies to mitigate them in order to minimize disruptions and delays.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project activities, including progress reports, change orders, and as-built drawings, to ensure accountability and facilitate future project planning.
  • Team Leadership: Motivate and manage electrical construction crews, providing guidance and support to ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering preferred but not required. Experience in electrical construction and managing a work force.
  • Proven experience in electrical project management, with specific experience in industrial or energy-related construction projects preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • OSHA certification and a commitment to safety in the workplace.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours and travel to project sites as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
