Homework Helper 

Hourly Rate Range: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour

The Homework Helper is responsible for providing homework assistance to all students in The Full PLAY program. You will support students with their homework by offering dedicated time, guidance, answering questions, and providing general assistance. Homework time is very important and we dedicate at least 30 minutes of time for this. There is always something for students to do during this time. We are committed to creating an environment where all students have the opportunity to complete their homework. This position requires someone who is 16 years or older, in high school and meets all the requirements for a work permit. They will support all our students throughout Homework time, has some experience working with elementary and/or middle school-aged children, and possesses strong problem-solving skills, flexibility, and punctuality. This is a part-time position with flexible hours and requires a work permit through your high school and evidence of a negative TB test within the last 24 months.

PlayCV is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to bring fun and enriching after-school classes, programs, camps and activities to 1st - 8th grade students in our community. We strive to bring enrichment programs that both introduce and further advance subject matters of interest. Our intention is to foster team and individual growth while developing social interactions. All of our programs take place onsite at one of Castro Valley Unified School District’s elementary or middle schools.

Our Homework Helper will be part of The Full PLAY team that provides high quality after-school programs for youth and their families.The position might be perfect for you if you like working with students, you can provide a supportive learning environment when students can gain assistance with their studies, Initiate creative and engaging ways to support homework help, ability to communicate clearly and motivate students to complete their work in a timely manner and quietly. You will be hired only to support during HomeWork time.

The Homework helper will work with students during homework time.

Responsibilities include:

• Homework support to all students in The Full PLAY program - answering questions, providing guidance and support to students. 
• Supporting quiet and safe experiences for students during Homework time.

• Have some elementary and/or middle school aged experience or have After School and/or Summer Program experience.

Please note - We are accepting applications for this position but the position is not hiring immediately.

This is a part-time position: 2 hours per day, not to exceed 20 hours per week, approximate time 2:30 - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. All incoming employees must have a work permit, and must show proof of a negative TB test within the last 24 months.
